In honor of National Intern Day, The Sheila Y. Oliver Foundation is proud to spotlight two Summer Interns, Kameron Harris and Cassandra Izquierdo!
The Foundation is grateful for their hard work and devotion to helping to bring this year’s Legacy Brunch to life! They each embody the qualities of dedication and leadership that the late Lieutenant Governor Sheila Y. Oliver championed.
Kameron, a rising junior at Hampton University majoring in Strategic Communications with a Marketing minor, is passionate about storytelling, photography, and community advocacy. He’s pursuing a career that blends creativity with purpose and unites his media and public engagement interests. As the President and Founder of ManDown HU, a campus organization, he supports young men’s mental and emotional well-being. As an intern, he honed skills in verbal and written communication, invoice and document processing, and sponsor outreach.
Cassandra, a graduate student at Rutgers University-Newark School of Public Affairs and Administration, is pursuing her MPA and specializing in nonprofit management. She has experience in fundraising, community engagement, and childhood cancer advocacy. As an intern, she sharpened her time management, communication, grant research, and sponsor outreach skills, with aspirations to launch her own foundation in the future.
The Sheila Y. Oliver Foundation wishes them continued success in their education and careers! Sheila Y. Oliver would’ve been so proud of their efforts to make a difference, empower others, and be advocates for change.
